problem with national characters in view data

Post by ppalka »

Hi,

I have a problem with viewing national (polish) characters in ds view data. There is only problem with viewing not with processing these characters. When I save such characters in some output, i.e. flat file, and I view that file using external viewer, the all national characters are ok.
Does anybody know how to set up ds to display properly national characters in ds view data?

Kind regards,
Piotrek

You cannot view polish characters in the view data. This applies to japanese data also.

As far as i know there are no setting available to display polish or japanese data in view data.

As far as I know - you don't setup DataStage for this, you setup your pc. What NLS_LANG setting is your pc set to?

My Computer / Properties / Advanced / Environment Variables

I have no NLS_LANG setting on my client machine, on unix server machine for dsadm user there is NLS_LANG=POLISH_POLAND.EE8ISO8859P2
Is that ok?

I'm not sure if I understood your post properly, but after I set NLS_LANG variable on my client machine there is still the same issue with view data...
