Clean up unwanted jobs and objects.

Post by murali »

Hi all
Is there any way to clean up the unwanted jobs from the Datastage project. Rather than manually deleting the objects like routines, jobs and table defnitions .Can any one help me.
Thanks in advance

How would you identify the "unwanted" objects and what do you want to do with them?

I'm curious how any automated cleanup would know what you did or did not want. :? What kind of rules did you have in mind?

Correct me if iam wrong . I just wanted to know if there is a method like that.so that on selection of each job that is one by one we can remove un wanted objects.

I think the easiest way is to compile all jobs. Enable job adminstration in Director. Delete all jobs which do not compile. After a normal job run then all jobs in compile status are targets to be deleted. Routines are another issue.

Backup all jobs first.

Again, how would you want to identify them? By name? By last run date? By status? By design? By category? Then, what do you want to do to them?

I believe murali is seeking either the RMM object or the DMNS object.
  • RMM = "read my mind"

DMNS = "do what I mean not what I say"
