Problem with Oracle stage(OraOCI9)

Post by ameet.penkar »

I am not able to see the properties of the Oracle stage(OraOCI9) in my jobs. The job hangs on attempting to do so.
However,I am able to do a view data on the link which is connected to the same Oracle stage.
Other team members using the same project with the same user do not face this problem.

I have already tried the following
1)Restart the machine
2)UNinstall and then re install of the client

Can somebody please give me a few pointers on how to solve this

HI,

How about if you try the same in other machine?
Is this issue, lasting for ever, or just started tohappen?

Hi Ameet,

Please check if your OS is Windows XP, if Yes then u need to install a Patch and if No, then you need to check with the Support Team.

THis problem has started surfacing only recently.

That would make sense as the patch is not meant for that particular problem at all.

I'd suggest you uninstall and reinstall the client once more. Double-check in between that everything is actually being removed. Rebooting after the uninstall wouldn't hurt either. If (and only if!) you are comfortable in regedit and editing the Windows Registry, then a quick trip there would be in order as well. Then reinstall the client and see if the stage works for you now.

The problem has been solved.

Here is the listing of the steps followed
1)Uninstall the client.
2)Remove from the registry every single reference to the word 'Ascential'
3)Boot the workstation
4)Reinstall the client
5)Reboot the workstation

Though I had done this before, this time I was more strict on the registry part.I deleted everything related to the client

Thanks Everybody
Ameet
