We are currently using DataStage XE 5.2 (Yes 5.2) on HP server running Unix UX 11.11 using Oracle database. Recently we migrated from Oracle 8.1.7 to Oracle 9.2.0.6. When we unmounted the Oracle 8.1.7 from the server, the first DataStage job abended with the following error :
ds_loadlibrary: error in dlopen - Dynamic Error
DataStage Job 70 Phantom 16128
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Can't find path for shared library: libwtc8.sl
/usr/lib/dld.sl: No such file or directory
Job Aborted after Fatal Error logged.
Attempting to Cleanup after ABORT raised in stage WSMDS661UnloadMatch..S10UnloadMatchFile
DataStage Phantom Aborting with @ABORT.CODE = 1
The DataStage Plugins.ini file has the following entry :
OCI8=Oracle 8 OCI stage version 4.0
ORAOCIBL=Oracle 8.1 Bulk Loader
The question I have is :
A) Is DataStage XE 5.2 will work with Oracle 9.2.0.6 ? If yes, then what needs to be done for pointing it to Oracle 9.2.0.6 so that Oracle 8.1.7 can be unmounted.
Thanks.

DataStage 5.2 with Oracle 9i

Your dsenv file contains paths to the Oracle home and shared libraries. You need to install the 32BIT Oracle client and update the dsenv file. Recycle the DS services and you should be fine.

Hi,
A new stage was built for Oracle 9.
I'd ask support for certified use of this combination.
Perhaps they have a better solution (other then upgrading DS version).
