can any one give me an idea of what is the basic difference between datastage TX and Datastage server/enterprise edition
In which scenario's we will use the tool datastage tx
thanks in advance

Basic difference: TX is a different product specific to realtime processing, purchased by Ascential from Mercator and incorporated into the tool set. Server is the original batch ETL tool developed by VMark/Ardent, and PX is the high-volume batch ETL tool acquired from Torrent.

Typically batch processing is what people think of ETL and relates to OLAP. Realtime, where singular transactions are sent over message queues, was called EAI and relates to OLTP.
Most realtime data warehouses are of the ETL nature, using microbatches, which mean every 60 seconds or so the process would startup, collect all rows for processing and load them. EAI typically relates to tying multiple disparate systems together in a realtime fashion, meaning in one transactional system a row is created/modified, a message goes onto a queue, and any interested systems pickup that information and update in their system.
