JD Edwards and Siebel Plugins

Post by bobthebuilder »

My project involves integrating JD Edwards, Siebel tools with Datastage. I have searched thru this forum to find out that DS does have connectors/plugins for these. My question is that do all these tools need to be connected on the same server(the one on which DS Server) or could they be operating on seperate boxes with connections provided between them.

Thanks
Bob

The client components, at least, need to be installed on the same machine on which the DataStage server resides.

It is not necessary that the actual JDE, Siebel, etc., applications also be co-resident.

Siebel components need to be installed in the DataStage server and client if you access Siebel thru Siebel Pack as you would need design and run time information required to talk to Siebel.
