we are currently running Datastage 7.0 on a Windows 2000 server. Next week this server is going to be upgraded to Windows 2003 server edition. We also have the new DS 7.5.1A...
My question, what needs to be done before upgrading the OS?? and in what order?
exporting projects + jobs, reinstall DS on new windows (first old 7.5 version??), recompile jobs
what about the transformations and routines? to they also need to be exported?
Maybe someone has done this before and can help me...?

The upgrade/installation guide only handles upgrades of a DS installation on a non-changing OS...my case is like moving the DS installation to a different physical server...Sainath.Srinivasan wrote:It depends upon other factors such as what components you are using in your jobs and whether you are using external utilities.

That is because your question is a generic one about 'how to upgrade?'.
As mentioned before, you need to look for the variables such as
1.) How do you connect to your db?
2.) Where have you placed your files?
3.) How are you maintaining your hash files?
4.) Do you perform external scheduling?
5.) Do you have any param files?
So without the knowledge of any of the above (and even more questions), the general method is to take a full backup of DataStage projects and perform as though you are to destroy and create it on a new machine and new server.
