installing Datastage on windows XP home edition

Post by supernova2005 »

Hi, I tried to install Datastage server (version 7.1r1) on windows XP home edition. and it complained that I can only install on NT, 2000 or XP professional. I installed the same thing on windows 2000 and I never had any problems. so do I have to upgrad my window xp to professional editional to install Datastage?

Thanks.

Yes. You should have Windows XP professional edition to have DataStage installed. But Windows XP is not a recommended OS for DataStage.

So have it installed in Windows NT/2000.

You cannot use a home editon. You need pro.

You definitely need XP Pro. If that has SP2, you will also need a patch from the vendor (through your support provider).
