Post by shyju_010 »

Hi

I had a problem when i used "Use Account name " to create a hash file
It returned a error saying that "invalid Account".Where the file creates when we use this option.
Expecting the ans in detail.

Shyju_010,

I hope this answer is detailed enough for your expectations. When you enter the "Use Account Name" you specify the DataStage project name. You most likely had a spelling error.

Better leave it blank to check.

To expand a bit on the previous post, I agree it is best to leave it blank. A blank Account Name means the current account - i.e. the Project the job is currently running in. If you leave it blank then it will still work as expected when you promote the job from your development to test to production projects without any changes as these projects generally have slightly different names.

If you do put a value in there, as Arnd noted make sure it is a properly spelled (and cased if on UNIX) Project name on that server.

It must be correctly cased on Windows, too.

The value here is the key to UV.ACCOUNT, which is accessed to determine the pathname of the project directory.

Ah, thanks for that. I wasn't sure since the O/S doesn't care, didn't know if DataStage enforced that or not.
