Hi
I wanted to know how much space do the table definitions occupy on the server, is it required to allocate separate memory for the metadata or does Datastage allocate the memory based on the number of columns.
And also if the total of table definitions is too big, then will it effect the performance.
Thanx
Space occupied for Metadata

Hi,
Metadata is everything you seee in the ds manager, jobs, routines, table definitions etc. it is all part of the project and managed by the DS engine.
Only you know how much jobs and table definitions you need but if you allocate 0.5G per project it's generous
it will not impact performance but very large projects can slow down your designer.
