Shared Container

Post by narayana_382 »

Hi All,
Kindly let me know, how does the shared container work?
What is the purpose of the shared container?

Regards,
Narayana.

In short, shared container is the subset of your job which you wish to replicate in other places.

It's a convenient way to store a subset of a job that you may like to use in more than one job (rather than, say, copy/paste between job designs). For example, I use a standard mechanism for updating error information into a database table; since I do this from a number of different jobs, I use a shared container that contains the stages to perform that task (which includes a lookup against an error codes table to get a severity value, among other things).
