Unable to Access DataStage Job Activity Property

Post by tombastian »

Hi All,
I am Unable to Access DataStage Job Activity & Nested Condition Properties. When I right click, it just does not display the popup window. I hear that it's because I have Windows Service Pack Installed a my client. Will anyone one Pls suggest me a work around for this. Server is on Unix and clinent side I use XP.

Thanks,
Tom.

It is more to do with the write priviledge on the DataStage folder (and its subfolders) in your client PC. Check whether you have it?

The fix is only on the client.

ACtually, it sounds more like the SP2 bug. Tom, if indeed you do have Service Pack 2 installed, log onto the Ascential eServices website and download the patch. Certainly can't hurt.

Check this post for the 'readme' from the patch.

Hi Srini,
Thanks for your reply. I granted the right permission to Datastage directory in my client to the user. But still I am unable to see the properties.

Regards,
Tom

By re-reading your lines, are you saying that you can access all Job Sequencer stages but not open only a couple of them?

Did you obtain the source code from other DataStage server with different version? This can be because the loop mechanism in DataStage Job Sequencer is only available from V7.5.

Yup, that's exactly what he said... and he didn't mention any 'loop mechanism'.

To reiterate, can you confirm that you are create new files in your DataStage client's directory !!

Not to dig on it, when you mean as 'right' permission, did you mean 'write' permission ?

As Craig stated, this is a know problem. Just download the patch, and you'll be fine!
