Can some one let me know the path for the datastage log?

If you are asking on the Server, it will be under your projects directory. You can find the project directory by selecting the project in DataStage Admin. You can see it on the (hash) file called RT_LOGnnn where nnn is the job number.

Alternatively (on the humour side), if you want from Client, it is on DataStage Director -> Log View.

Maybe it's time to make a FAQ item for this question :wink:

You cannot just read the "DataStage Log files" with vi e.g. you need something to get the log entries in readable format, either with dsjob or writing something in uv/BASIC to extract the entries. Also some third party add-on tools (search for dwnav) will do something like that already.

You can access the hash file RT_LOGnnn as any normal hash-file in Unix and specify the account to be your project name.

You can obtain the column info using 'LIST DICT RT_LOGnnn' from your universe command mode from any project.
