Difference between Xformer processing in DS6.0 and 7.0

Post by vinodlakshmanan »

We have some jobs which were running on DS 6.0 and Informix which we are migrating to 7.0 and TerraData. All the jobs are server jobs. But we are facing issues as record counts do not match between 6.0 and 7.0 jobs. We have fixed the TD-Informix issues. Still problems persist. Is there any difference in processing between 6.0 and 7.0? For e.g, we observed that records dropped as nulls were there in some fields in constraints in 6.0 are not dropped in 7.0 till the constraint is processed. Are there any more such changes?

Not that I'm aware of, but that's not to say there weren't any. :? Best place to look would be in the readme for the 7.0 release. It will list a number of changes and fixes in the current release, even a list of known problems. Your issue could be something that shouldn't have worked the way it was working and was 'fixed'... or could be something that was broken.

Out of curiosity, what flavor of UNIX and what exact version of DataStage? You may need to install one of the 'minor' maintenance releases for your version if you haven't done so already.
