Info for a migration

Post by gpbarsky »

Hi forumers....

I would like to know where can I look for information for migrating my current jobs in release 5.2, to the last release of DataStage.

Does anybody know if an inconsistency may exist ? Or should I modify jobs manually before/after migrating to the last release ? Does it exist a document indicating all the differences between relases ?

I'll appreciate all your comments.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

We did a migration from Version 5.2 to Version 7 and haven't had any issues. We exported the full project and then imported in the new version.

Thanks

As Siva suggested, forward compatibility is not a problem.

The process of updating without uninstalling automatically updates all objects in all projects. (You don't get a choice on this.)

However, you can't go back, so make sure you've got a verified backup, and an export of the project, and an extra export just to be on the safe side.

Somebody's Law says that, if you have these backups, you won't need them!

Thanks Siva and Ray.

We will make a test in other server, and then we will be migrating.

Anyway, I would like to read some documentation about the last release. Where can I find it ?

I suppose that the SAP connection wroks fine also, isn't it ?

Hi.

I have upgraded from 5.2 to 6.0r3 ( not v7 ) and detect the follying error in OCI Stages, the jobs don't run with the Pre 4.2 User-defined SQL Behavior check in Lookup's.
