Hi,
I want to use dsjob for triggering the jobs in a DS Server installed in UNIX box. Now dsjob.exe is a server side component. How can I use dsjob from an NT system(that has only client installed in it) to trigger a DataStage job in UNIX server. Is it possible at all?
Regards,
Sumit

Research rsh, it allows you to execute a command on a remote server (Unix or NT). You could have your NT workstation execute an rsh command to a script on the DS server which invokes dsjob.

Hi,
in case running rsh from your windows machine is prohibited due to security reasons you can also place the 3 dll files mentioned in the api section of the servjdev.pdf documentation file and get a dsjob.exe there, then all you need is to use the dsjob command line the same as you would a regular windows server installation, be aware you need the windows version of the mentioned files to get it working.
(all legal/liscencing issues must be adressed, so contact your support for advice in case you only have the unix version)

Starting with 7.5 this is a 'non-issue'.
Or just wait for Roy to post the information.![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)
There have also been posts here recently detailing what you need to move to the client manually so you can do this as well. Hopefully a search would turn that up.DSjob is now installed with DS client installation
--------------------------------------------------
The dsjob command-line utility is now installed as part of the DS client
installation. This will enable customers in Unix server environments to
control jobs from Windows DS client machines.
Or just wait for Roy to post the information.
