My only reservation about using a windows method or client side is that it takes forever. The delivered set of ETL maps from PeopleSoft contain about 1738 jobs. It took me 5 hours on my client to import them into a project. I did it in about an hour on the Unix server side. I'm mainly concerned with the time for when we get into production and begin performing nightly backups and migrations. Granted there is no guarantee we will be using even a third of the delivered ETLs, I have to keep them in our Gold code in the event one of the jobs addresses a need we have in future.
