regarding a datastage error

Post by acb »

Hello Friends,

When I ran a job, I got the following error:
'Program "JOB.613385795.DT.1322136067.TRANS1": Line 219, Improper data type'.
I am done with the error, but what does the 'Line 219' indicate?
Could anyone, please, explain.

Hi,

The line no. indicates the PIC BASIC code line no. generated by DS.
If u goto where ur DS server is installed in ur proj directory u can find the file JOB.613385795.DT.1322136067.TRANS1 in one of the folders present there.
There u'll hv the PIC BASIC codes.U can view in any of the text editors.
My guess is u might hv made a calcuation in that line which has NULL as its values.
Think Ahead,

It's not PIC BASIC and it's not PICK BASIC. It's DataStage BASIC (or DS BASIC if you must persist with these infuriating contractions). :x
