Hi Ray:

Am telnetting from India into a remote server on which DS Ver 5.2 r1 is installed ,the error which come when I try to run uv at DSHOME/bin is as follows:

$ pwd
/home/sribalas
$ cd /
$ cd home/dsadm/Ascential/DataStage
$ ls
DSEngine Projects Template.ini ud41
Plugins.ini Template branded_odbc unishared
$ cd DSEngine
$ cd bin
$ uv
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program uv because of the following errors:
0509-150 Dependent module libdsplugin.so could not be loaded.
0509-022 Cannot load module libdsplugin.so.
0509-026 System error: A file or directory in the path name does not exi
st.
$



Could you please help?

I'm not Ray, but perhaps I can help.

I suspect you need to "source" the dsenv file before running 'uv'. From Unix prompt key:

cd home/dsadm/Ascential/DataStage/DSEngine
. ./dsenv
uv

That may help.

I hope that was the right answer. If not, then I didn't REALLY help :) . Just trying to earn my keep around here. I get so much help from others, just seems right to try to help when I can.

That said, the answer is almost certainly the correct one.

About the only other possibility is that the shared library search path environment variable (LIBPATH on AIX, LD_LIBRARY_PATH or SHLIB_PATH on other operating systems) is not correctly set up.
