Custom Transforms ?

Custom Transforms ?

How does one use transforms that are under transforms category ?
How can I write a custom transform and how can I use it ?

Not sure what you are asking... have you tried looking at or using one yet?

You 'use' a Transform the same way you use anything else - type in it or pick it from the appropriate category of the little helper thing (forget the actual name) under the ellipsis (...) in the Derivation Editor. In this case, the category is 'DS Transforms'. :wink:

Can you write one? Sure. Just like writing a custom routine, only simpler as Transforms are only one liners. Look at the properties of the existing ones as examples. Then, try your hand at creating a new one by clicking the 'New' button. How can you use it? See above.

:!: Just noticed you marked this as a Parallel Job. I've given you a Server answer... someone else may need to correct me. From what I've read here, you may only be able to use Transforms and Routines in a PX job using the BASIC stage, whatever its exact name is. Sorry, I don't have access to PX.
