I don't see validation rule set such as VEmail and VPhone under Standardization Rules in my designer.

I have an access for 8.1 and 8.5 Datastage version but validation rules are no where to be found.
Could somebody provide me any kind of hints to locate them?

You can open the 'Advanced Find' and look for VEMAIL*, or you can look under ./Standardization Rules/Other.

Beware that the validation rule sets (VEMAIL, VPHONE, etc.) are highly US-centric.

For example VEMAIL can not cope with zaphod@h2g2.co.uk (the rule set requires a "com" domain, not a "co" domain).

Fair point, however your specific example does work. .CO is actually recognized now (but may not have been at one time in the past)...

Yes, you are correct!

VTAXID isn't good for much anywhere... It mainly just checks that not all digits are equal.
