MNS stage and postal code validation for canada

Post by sigma »

Hi

we are using MNS to standardize the country, province and postal codes...

IN using MNS where we feed the address fields from input for it to process the output, we find that for POSTAL CODES for countries canada and uk which are alpha numeric in nature of lenght 7 with a space after the 3rd character gets formed into a six character output without a space

Is there a way where it will not do this kind of removing the space from a valid post code. How do we enable that or has anyone come across this issue in the past

Hi,

The UK actually has many postal formats than you mention (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postcodes_ ... ed_Kingdom).

One option is to find and modify the MNS rule set for the UK. Another is to use a Transformer after the MNS stage.

In any event, I would think the mail would get delivered without the space (assuming it is a valid address).

No (it's read-only out of the box) but, if you make a copy of it and edit the copy, you don't violate your support contract.
