Post by sigma »

We need to standardize for countries worldwide such as Poland, Russia & Portugal, the only countries available in Datastage is:-

Australia
Canada
France
Germany
Italy
Japan
Korea & Spain

How do we address this?

Build rule sets. It's tedious, but it's not difficult.

DataStage 8.1 has address standardisation for 244 countries. If Russia and Poland aren't on the list I'll eat my hat. See September Information Server 8.1 Adds Global Name Recognition. DataStage 8.1 was earmarked for release this month in some IOD events but no sign of it yet.

Nor will there be any PLNAME or RUNAME rule sets in that, so that might be a good starting point for your experimentation - name rule set is one of the easiest ones to construct, and you can use USNAME as a prototype - just treat patronymic the same as middle name, for example.
