Hello Everyone,
I have joined one of the client location as a consultant and my client is trying to propose Quality Stage as one tool for their requirements. Their Requirements are as follows:-
1) Address Lookup e.g. if the House number and post code is provided then it should return the complete postal address.
2) Corrects addresses with missing or misspelled components
3) Corrects missing and/or incorrect 5-digit Zip codes for US
4) Adds Zip +4 Codes for US
5) Adds carrier route codes
6) Adds delivery point codes
7) Standardizes street addresses.
Integrate with Web service where the tool can return the address at run-time.
From my past experience in Quality Stage ( till Version 7.5 ) I feel Quality stage can only work somewhat for Requirement 7 but my client is saying that IIS Version 8.0 can suffice to all these requirements.
Can someone tell me if its possible to use IIS version 8.0 for this requirement.
From my past experience I feel 'Quick Address Search' i.e. QAS would be the right tool for this kind of requirement.
Thanks in Advance

All of those things can be done with version 7 (and therefore with version 8). You need the "real time" components for publishing the job as a web service, and you need CASS for US postal certification (certifying that an address is an existing address).
If you have multiple address records "correction" may be able to be done through matching survivorship. The USAREA rule set may be able to be leveraged for zip+4 and zip correction also; it's not something I've tried.

I'm sure QAS can fulfill most (if not all) of your requirements. On a previous project I used QAS to "cleanse" the addresses and QualityStage to process the extraneous vanity/cherished information which QAS throws out as 'junk'.
When you're trying to get a bill to the desk of an account payable clerk this 'superfluous' information is sometimes of utmost importance. In some industries (E.g. Utilities) the 'junk' is most important - Try storing the address of a mobile phone mast in the middle of a field, or a gas meter under the stairs on the ground floor of the East stairwell of an office building!
If you elect to utilise QAS as part of your solution you might be interested in a custom stage written in C I have available which interfaces directly to QAS-Batch. It permits you to stream legacy addresses in and it streams out the QAS version, along with relevant matchcodes, etc.

QualityStage (7.x and 8.0), with the CASS add-on, will definitely perform all of the functions on your list...as well as deduplicate customers (if desired) and standardize names, phone numbers, taxid.
Thanks everyone for giving the reply. But now I have few more questions:-
1)Can the CASS Add-on be used for other countries as well such as UK and Canada or is it specific to US addresses only.
2) Is the CASS Add-on database going to be regularly updated for the new addresses and after how many days it is going to be refreshed.
John,
I am also suggesting them to use QAS as I also have used that tool along with you in that Utility Industry project

CASS is US-only. Others are available, for example SERP for Canada.
These databases are refreshed. I don't currently have information about the interval; your vendor could provide that.
