Don't move my link labels

If I put a link label where I want it, why does DataStage Designer insist on moving it?

Phil - the reason they are still moved around is because not enough of us have complained about it. The mobile link label positions is one of my pet peeves and I second your request!

Or, make a better guess where to place it when it is moved!

Chuck,

I think the current algorithm that DS uses is to place it as close as possible to any other objects or text with weighting given to overlay text as much as possible

Also, the label (and run stats) should be drawn in front of the line, not behind it.

I also have this problem. I created a single job with a single source connection and a single target connection (MS Bulk Load), but with transforms for about 60 tables to do some load testing. I moved the labels to perfect spots -- it looked so nice. Saved, closed and went home for the day. Next day, opened the job and all the labels I moved were sitting right on top of the transform label

Oh, well. Newbie lack of knowledge. So, add may name to the wish list on this one.

Bestest,

Totally agree with this one

Really how hard is it? It is after all an object with a state.
This is a really irritating bug.

At times "irritating" feels like a really light work, when you have a handful of manipulations in the transformer and have several links coming out. O boy O boy...
