Hello Craig and all others, Is that the reason why i am not able to use $PROJDEF in my 7.1r1 Datastage version. I am trying to use envi variables with $PROJDEF, it only gives error as invalid charector. Could some one explain the use of userdefined environment tab present in the admin window for 7.1...

I have created a batch file and had problems in executing from jobcontrol. So, i tryed calling it from the command stage,it worked. Thanks for your post, it was really helpful.

I am sorry, i was refering to Roy.

Yes Ray, the jobs that are dragged on to the seqence are populated properly.
Myn is win2003, i dont know the fix.

Ray,
I am able to drag and drop, but strangly i am not able to acces them through jobactivity. I will try on Reindexing. For time beeing "draging and dropping" will move my work ahead!

Sure Ray,
As i posted in my earlyer messages, i only changed the datestage datatype to timestamp, left the sql server datatype as datetime and the rest ramain same.

I finally did forced the data type to timestamp tough it is a datetime in sql, it worked:)

Hi dsx and vidya, I tryed chaning the ouput data type to datetime , but there is a conflict with the string to datetime datatype. Now i am thinking of pushing this entire date+time as varchar to sqlserver and then write a stored procedure to chage it to datetime! This is some thing that is not sugge...
