I got the root cause. One of the not null columns has blank spaces and data stage is making them NULL. Is it possible to tell data stage to not conver blank space to NULL for some cases or we need to handel such cases specifically.

The screen would be designed in java.

Gaurav, No, you don't need MVS version. All you need is to install the DB2 Client in the Unix box and do all the Catalogs and Bind and have proper permissions to access your mainframe DB2.
