Once again you do not have to be on 7.5.2 to upgrade to ver8

I'm in meetings with IBM today and I asked this very question, and just as the documentation states you only need to be on version 7x to upgrade to version 8.

Please stop spreading bad information.

You do not have to upgrade to 7.5.2

Here's the verbiage from the IBM site... Earlier DataStage versions - UNIX and Linux servers If your version of DataStage is earlier than version 7.0, then you cannot upgrade directly to IBM Information server. There are two available upgrade options and a co-existence option: 1) Upgrade your DataSt...

Upgrading to Version 8 from 7.1

Hi - I'm looking to find some opinions on my upgrade strategy. I will be upgrading our DS environment in the next month, and will be starting the process on a clean server. What would be the best approach for getting the 7.1 version on the server? Can I simply take a backup of the existing environme...

Abnormal termination after HEAP DUMP

Looking up against a single key 7 character hash file that only has only one rec in it. There is some minor re-formatting occuring in th...

With Server I have been able to parse the source data from the CFF by indicating specific field values I want going down specified links. I cannot see how tha...

Conditional Lookup

I have a initial conversion related situation. I have to join fact information to a dimension based on matching the fact effective date with the dim record having the max effective date <= the fact effective date. There are two other PKs along with the date that create the link between the fact &...

Did you consider simply using the DateGenericIsDate Transform that's native to DS?

Using Complex Flat Files (CCF) Stage

Do the CCFs have to be handled differently within the batch job? I'm putting together a batch that has a CCF in one of the jobs. The Job runs fine on its own, but once I try to call it from the batch the job abends with the error CFF5: Can't Open. Has anyone run into this before?
