You could be running into the fifo_open problem. This caused us a lot of job hangs. There is patch for the AIX kernel to address this issue. The patch is: IY86253

I think you can google the patch.

Our company is planning to move DataStage installation from Windows platform. As a target platform AIX and Linux are been discussed. Any bug that can cause my data to become corrupt is critical to me. I also consider it neglect when they find critical bugs and don't inform customers. Especially when they already have the fixes.
