Hi All, Currently on V 7.5 on Windows and planning to migrate to 9.1.2. We have Server jobs and Server Routines only and plan to use the same post migration! We have one Datastage Project that houses all the Hash and Universe Files including SDkSequences (but No Jobs) and these are referenced using ...

1. If we have 2 Engine Tiers, can we restrict jobs from a specific project to run on a particular engine only while other project(s) to run on the 2nd Engine, by leveraging the Configuration file? 2. If we want to add a new Engine tier, does this need a Re-Install? 3. Any other considerations if we ...

Yes we plan to ensure that job optimization and other techniques as you mentioned are validated first before we decide on either approach. If we have Services and Engine Tier separated out, I assume we should be looking at more CPU/Physical Memory on the Engine, as this will do most of the processin...

Datastage QualityStage License
Hi, I have a couple of licensing questions 1. When we purchase the Infosphere Information Server Enterprise Edition for Datastage, does it automatically include Quality Stage or there is a separate license to use it in Datastage Jobs? 2. Can we buy "Server" License or "Parallel" ...

Datastage (Infosphere Information Server) Sizing
Hi All, We are in the process of sizing a datastage environment. What are the inputs needed that would help in arriving at a reasonably close hardware requirements estimation..No of Cores, Memory (I understand it cannot not be accurate but in the ballpark) e.g Data Volumes Available Load Window with...

Universe program from datastage
Hi,
we are currently, v 7.5, calling some Universe Programs from batch jobs from the Before Job Routine. Will we be able to call these same Universe Applications from version 9.1.2 (post migration)?
or we have to rebuild this logic in some other way and then use in the new version?
Thanks,
VN

Unidata and UNIAPI
Hi All, I see in version 9.1 (Server jobs) Unidata 6 stage has been superseded by Unidata stage. We need to connect to Unidata 7.3.4, does it support this Unidata version? Also does it use the UNIAPI to connect to the Unidata Server from Datastage? If yes any specific settings we need to make on Dat...

32-Bit to 64-Bit - Datastage Version Migration
Hi, We are on Windows on v7.5.3 and are planning to migrate to Information Server V9.1.2. Currently the Datastage Engine is 32-bit where as I understand in 9.1.2 it will be 64-Bit (or 32-bit?) Are there any potential issues due to change in bitness that could impact the export/import/compile of the ...

Hi All, When we purchase the Information Server 9.1 License, does it include both the Server and Parallel Engine? I mean we will be able to design both Server and Parallel jobs If we would like to use only Server jobs, is there a separate license instead of buying the package that includes both or t...
