Error while passing output value from Command Execute stage

Guys, I execute a 'cat' using the command execute stage and pass the command output value to the job parameter thro' a job activity stage. The file actually contains a timestamp. But I get an error saying Error calling DSSetParam(LastRunDateTime), code=-4 [ParamValue/Limitvalue is not appropriate] I...

Thanks a lot Kcbland and Ray for all those inputs.
Well, this one is going to be a fresh installation and would be starting it in a couple of hrs.
Most of them are "unheard of" issues for me.
Anyway I shall get back soon.

What's Important ??

Hi all, I would be installing the Datastage7.5.2 EE in an AIX box tomorrow and am quite nervous about it as this one is going to be my first.... I have read some of the previous posts about the MKS tool kit and the .net C++ compiler support issues. And then the configuration file (not been thr...

Hi! Ray,
I think,
the problem is not executing the stored procedure. but, how should I pass more than one policy number into stored procedure...
I mean, calling stored procedure for every policy....!!!

how is that possible?

Thanks to all for the inputs. From my side, I always believe that Prevention is better than Cure and that is what most of you have suggested. I also think that junk data should reside in a system for the least amount of time. The more the time, the costlier it becomes to handle it and, Ray, I do reme...

Before or after??

What are the advantages or consequences of addressing the data quality issues after loading the data into the warehouse?

Chulett & Ray,
Yes!
I did try ls -1 and got an output like
File1
File2
File3
File4
.......that was fine but the delimiter '\n' is not being recognised. Is the representation of this carriage return right or is there any other way.
If this works out then that would be excellent.
Thanks.

Expressing delimiter's in a loop stage??

Hi, In a loop stage I use the list loop option for which I get values by issuing a ls -m command which retrieves a list of files with a comma and SPACE between each file. It also has a New Line character added to it at the end of the fourth file in the list. File1, File2, File3, File4, File5, File6,...

Iam quite sure that there is no intervention by any individual.
Again these jobs run perfectly after they are compiled and re-run.
Anyway, we have the Ascential team coming down to solve this problem and I shall come back with what they had said.
Thanks a lot guys.

Ray, Given the fact that this does not arise consistently, Could there be a flaw in the job design? If yes! then would the execution of a series of CE stages bring unix down? Sometime back other members of the team too were struck by this error(again occasionally) when jobs were run using a thrid pa...

Unexpected termination by Unix signal 9(SIGKILL)

Hi, Recently while running a sequencer, which has a loop stage and quite a few command execute stages in between the loop I encountered a fatal error which goes like this 1. Unexpected termination by Unix signal 9(SIGKILL) followed by 2. Failure during execution of operator logic. What could be the ...
