Hi Craig,
The type of load mechanism I am using is "Insert else update" .
Will talk to my DBA and see if the update option again slows it down.
Thanks,

Oracle 8 taking 4 hrs to load !

Hi,
I have a simple server job that does no look ups or complex functions, it has 40 columns and mostly they are varchar 10 to varchar 20.
The extraction from a table takes 30 mins but it keeps loading for more than 4 hrs at 100rows/sec.

Is there any thing I can do ?
Thanks,

It sure is scary 6th sense! but I donot have hte flat file access as SAP BW Plug in creates the flat file internally. Other way is first create a flat file and do as you say and again load it to BW plug in..Hmm yes that sounds do able.
Will let you know Thanks for the idea.

This filed is serial number so fortunately there are no "." in the number.

Hi,
Thanks for the Ocnv idea, have got my issue resolved by first capturing and converting any special characters to "." and then replaceing the "." to ""!

TRIM(Oconv(ToXfm.LONG_SERIAL_NO,"MCP"), ".","")

Thanks,
Will try this, I havea field value like MCE90908 which is extracted from Oracle8i and has a line termination at the end which is invisible, so wanted to extract only numerics and characters . What would be the combination to extract numbers AND characters only.
Appreciate your help.

Extract Numberics & Chars only from a string

Hi,
Is there a function or way to extract only numbers and characters from a string. I need to do this so to avoid special characters and line termination characters.
Thanks,

Thanks Craig,
The "writers" are not the same, and I am also using a Link Colector followed by an Aggregator stage to sum the vlaues up, hope this will not be a issue , in the sense the aggregator will wait till all the records are processed.

I have downloaded the file and looked at it. There is one serial number which is giving the issue, it has "," in the values and it is bumping the other fields into next ones. I did use TRIM(in.col3,",","") to replace the commas by space but looks like its not working. I...
