Sorry ... I didn't actually answer your question: No ... 8.1 is not Certificated (hmmmm is that the right word?) for any flavor of Windows 7.

I'd like to offer a partial answer: If you are running Win7 Home Premium, Microsoft offers software ($89.00) to update Win7 HP to Win7 Pro. Win7 Pro contains software to create a virtual XP session within the Win 7 OS. I have used this XP session to download and install DataStage 8.1 Client as well ...

Sainath ...

You say I can write the records into separate bad files and send each to appropriate team.

I don't understand 'bad' file ... how does the sequence access this 'bad' file?

Sorry ... I was misusing the term Value Set. What I need to do is pass a value from a DataStage shared container to a Sequence.

The DataStage container is a validator - I want to pass a result to a sequence so that the correct email address may be used.

... again thanks.

Using DataStage Job to Generate Value Files

Hi Folks ... Before I spend a ton of design time, can anyone tell me whether it is possible to use a DataStage job to generate the contents of a Value File? I need to email the appropriate user based on the specific (Customer, Invoice, Product, etc.) error found in an earlier DataStage process. Than...

STACK TRACE ERROR

Problem resolved: was using Surrogate Key Generator and did not notice that datatype generated for surrogate column was BigInt Unsigned - and that was being mapped into the target column which was Integer 10. Compile was clean, but execution was not.

Thanks for the help ...

Eliminate NLS warning msg ??

Hi Folks ... We do not have or want NLS, but this Director msg just will not go away. All our jobs contain this Warning: "main_program: The NLS character map <ISO-8859-1> is specified, but NLS_LANG is not set; the NLS character map must be set to an ICU codepage which is equivalent to the chara...

vmdsedit.dll Incorrect Version

Has anyone experienced the error named in the subject line? It occurs when trying to open a File or Sort or ??? stage in 8.0.1 on a 7.5 Server program which has been imported via dsx. This issue is curious in that in our shop, three other developers are using the same Client software with no problem...

Performance gains by combining Lookups ???

Hi Gang ...

I have a PX job with 3 Lookups - the reference file for each is a DataSet. Are there performance gains to be relized by combining these 3 Lookups into one Stage? ... or will the Optimizer do that for me?

thanks ...

Double Vs Decimal: Which is faster?

joesat:
How is the size calculated for Decimal?
Decimal size calc: If byte count is odd, add 1 and divide by 2. If byte count is even, divide by 2 and add 1.

So Decimal(12) would store as 7 bytes, while Decimal(7) would store as 4.
