Does anybody know for sure if this exists?

I wrote to Easysoft: ...we need to read from Excel files on Unix. So, what we need is an ODBC driver for Excel on Unix. Could you please advise on which Easysoft product are we looking for. and they answered: Sorry Ivan, I do not know of an ODBC driver that can access Excel files on a Unix box. If t...

Hey, this is great news. I knew about the flasback query where you could specify the time interval (how far in the past). I didn't know about the SCN and flashback the table directly. But how about this: ORA-12801: error signaled in parallel query server P011 ORA-01555: snapshot too old: rollback se...

Add a date column to your target table. Fill it with the date of load during the load. If the load aborts in the middle, you can easily identify the records to be deleted. After deletion you can run the job again. You could try to automate this process by adding a delete job in sequence before the l...

Why do you need "Copy stage"? I have never used it. I have sussessfuly loaded rejected records either to Oracle table or to a file.

I don't know which date format is default in DataStage, but putting date literals inside TO_DATE function with the format spec that matches your date, will most certainly help.

I would try to do it with a single Oracle update.
Or maybe, if you can't do without transformer, there should be two steps:
First prepare a table which holds the transformed data, and then use it in another job to update the desired table.

So, are you saying APT_ORACLE_PRESERVE_BLANKS doesn't work if it's not available in Admin?
No, I hope It does something when some requirements are met. I just don't know which requirements.[/quote]

Best that you can do is have only Oracle 8i. The sooner you do it the less trouble you get. Good luck.
