Thanks Ray. As u said it is recognised as Varchar. All the Char fields are also getting doubled. Can u tell me how to get the exact table definition.

When we import Progress Database table definitions into DS through ODBC the length of some fields is changing. Length of intger fields is getting doubled...can any one explain why it is happening so....

I have run a shell script (which echos a variable) using Exec Command in job sequence.In the logs it is showing that scrip has executed sucessfully.But I couldn't find the output in unix.Where shell I look for the out put.

my source would be in EBCDIC(from mainframe) format and need to decode in to ASCII to start jobs. Atlast in to flat file.
Is NLS really needed in this scenario?
Bcoz iam thinking of uninstalling or disable the NLS.
What would be your suggestion????
