I'm sure QualityStage could carry out Ray's solution, change the field to title case and save it to a new field, compare the old field to the new field and reject those that are different. Could do it in QualityStage using a Select Stage. First define a field that is the first character of the orig...

But for some standardization jobs I need to specify the alternate locale in my run profile otherwise those jobs are getting failed. Eh? According to the User Guide, the Alternative Locale in the Run Profile is used when you need to run jobs in other languages. Is this what you need? (If so, I have ...

Re: QS Matching Error
Hi All, I have one Quality Stage Matching Job . The job is running fine on one Unix server when I deploy the same job even with the same input files on different unix server then it is giving me the below error: I'm going to guess that it has something to do with the new location. Is QS looking in ...

A better question might be: why do we need to specify the Datastage version we are using? Some of us, for example, only use QualityStage, and so the question becomes completely irrelevant. I agree that knowing which software/platform you are using is important, but there is more that just Datastage....

Re: Error while running
Er, could be a large number of things, depending on what you have or haven't done. Is QS installed properly? Are the designer options set correctly? Is the Run Profile set correctly? (I doubt it is any of those, but just checking...) Did you Deploy the job first? Did you put a copy of the file in th...

Re: Regarding QualityStage Job Exit Status
Is there any document for exit status or if any one knows about the Quality Stage job's exit status then it would be helpful for me. In our system, we monitor for the file <jobname>.end, which appears in the SCRIPTS subdirectory. (QS should delete the file before running the job, but there's no har...

Re: New Layout of Site
Certainly shows off how important DataStage has become.
Might i suggest splitting up the FAQ forum into FAQ and DataStage FAQ? (The latter in the DataStage area of course.) Already a lot of the FAQ posts are about DataStage items, and not all of us are DataStage users...

Re: relational DB as source for qualitystage?
We've been passing data to QualityStage from Sybase via an ODBC connection (although getting it working for our server set up took us a while). From the manuals, ODBC connections are fairly standard, and remove the need for a lot of file creation and even file definition. (Writing back from QualityS...

Mark all new messages read
Hello, When logging on to the Home page, we can see that there are X number of posts since last visit, and can then bring up the list of them. What feature would be nice (and is present in the actual Forums) is "Mark all posts as read". (I only read a few of the forums, so the ability to c...

Forum - click on the bucket
Hello, Okay, firstly, not sure if it's called a bucket or not, that's just what I think it is. I'm talking about the icon to the left of the message/topic heading. Anyway, suggestion: When in a particular forum group, one can either click on the subject title, or click on the bucket, and end up in t...
