So, I'm assuming the jobs are running but not logging where you expect them to. Check this post and see if it helps. ... Yes indeed, this was the answer to my problem. Hope this is useful for vasudev_koti as well. Now I can start reading in the manuals what these two parameters are really about, wh...

Hope it is not a multi-instance job and you seeing a different instance whose log has been cleared. Try calling this job from a sequencer and see the 'related log' from the sequencer log. Log in ... Indeed, this is not a multi-instance job. I created a sequence which only has one 'Job Activity', wh...

Re: DataStage Director view log Unable to see
I have exactly the same problem on my new environment, which is IS V8.1 on WindowsXP. The Director filter is disabled; The word 'filtered' doesn't appear at the bottom of the window. The field there just sais '0 entries'. I created 3 jobs and non of them create messages. Does anyone have more ideas?...

Re: Erroneous data goes undetected in a Flat File Stage
if you use decimal instead of integer, (decimal[10,0]) it will work. Looks like the issue is coming from the fact than orchestrate is using sscanf and all the other strto... functions to convert. I'm still looking for a way to enforce the format, but decimal is working (I already did a test). Dan D...

Erroneous data goes undetected in a Flat File Stage
When you read from a file using a flat file stage, it will generate errors when the data cannot be parsed according to the specified schema definition and other format specifications. Records that don't satisfy the specification can be sent to a rejects link. This is behaviour we appreciate. But som...

Parameter values of a sequence that is restarted
When the general property 'Add checkpoints...' of a sequence is set, then the sequence is restartable. When such a sequence aborts then it is in the state 'Aborted/Restartable'. I noticed that there doesn't exist any action named 'Restart' or such. The only action to restart this sequence is 'Run No...

Call DB2 stored procedure
Using the DB2 API Stage, I can call a stored procedure instead of upserting: SQL "call apply_rechtstoestand (?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?);" I cannot define a reject link. Using the DB2 Enterprise Stage, I can define a reject link. I cannot call a stored procedure. Is there any way t...

Roy, indeed. I forgot the /.dshome, which I also will need to copy by hand. But the version of DS is 7.5.1A. If I'm well informed, it is the first version which officially supports multiple DS servers on a single UNIX box. This is our case. As /.dshome can only point to one of the multiple servers, ...

DS server move
We are moving the DataStage installation from one Solaris machine to another one. Of course we could re-install the DataStage software. But a simple unmount of all concerned filesystems and remount on the new Solaris server seems also be a correct option. All the code, configurations, etc is located...

Prerequisites for the DB2/UDB Enterprise stage
Hi, the installation guide is unclear as to the relation between DB2 V8 with DPF and the DataStage DB2/UDB Enterprise stage. In order to take advantage to the parallel capabilities of the DB2/UDB Enterprise stage, it is clear that the database must also be parallel (DPF). But can this stage be used ...

Would it be possible to change the primary group of a datastage server the following way: - Stop the DataStage server. - As superuser, change the group (chgrp) id of all directories and files which having the old groupId to then new groupId. - As superuser, change the primary group of the dsadm to t...
