Both users connect to the data source with the same user name and password. The strange thing about this is the user that is not able to access is the admin and the user that created the job and is able to view data is ordinary user. We are connecting to a Db2 database sitting on AS400. We are using...

View Data from the stage definition. The stage definition is of type ODBC. There is a button on the stage which says 'View Data'. The user that is trying to view the data is different from the user that created the job. Does this matter? FYI, The project is NOT a protected project Sorry for the conf...

Problem trying to view data and running a job
We are encountering a strange problem with Ascential 7.5. we are ONLY able to view data or run a server job with one particular user id. When we login as other users (even administrator) we are not able to view the data. It just hangs on the screen where we try to view the data. Anyone had this prob...

Project variables in selection criteria?
Can you use project/environment level variables defined in DataStage Administrator in the selection criteria for a DB2 or ODBC stage? I tried adding project variables as job parameters and used them in the selection criteria like Division_num = '#$DIVISION_NUM#'. When I tried to view data after that...

Thanks Kim for your time. We are using a DB2 database. I need to be able to read, increment and update the current value in the sequence table and return incremented value. I don't have any experience with BASIC. Could you point me to any guides on connecting to db and executing SQL statements in BA...

Mimic KeyMgtGetNextValueConcurrent routine
I would like to get opinion from Gurus on mimicing Key management routines. We have a sequence table which is very similar to the one that Ascential DataStage Key management routines use to manage the key values. The structure of our sequence table is SEQ_NAME INITIAL_VALUE CURRENT_VALUE INCREMENT_V...

I think there is a problem with DRS stage in 7.1R1 release. If I change the type of SQL data type in the source and target stages to TIMESTAMP, it works fine. But the data type is defined as DATE in database for both source and target tables. Does anyone know of problems with DRS and 7.1R1? Thanks, ...

Dataloading between two DB2 databases
I am trying to load data between two databases. Both are DB2 databases and the table structure is exactly same. The ETL map is very straighforward. This particular ETL makes use of Dynamic RDBS stage for source and target. When I execute the map, I am getting the following error. [IBM][CLI Driver][D...

You are the man. Re-indexing seems to have solved the problem. Thanks a lot But when I try to create a job with DB2/UDB stage and try to open the stage, the client freezes. But the job itself is getting saved fine. Any idea why the DataStage designer client freezes. DataStage Designer is running on ...

When I try to save an existing job, it gives me following error message: Error creating job TEST to copy into Another job is being created - please try again later And if I try to create a new job with same name 'TEST', I get an error that another job is being created with the same name. If I try to...
