DS8 TD Connector and Pimary Indexes

I am trying to build a generic job to load a dataset to a target table in Teradata. We we are using the Teradata Connector. The job is generic, so I want the job to be abel to create/replace a target table if needed. The problem is that I cannot figure out how to specify a primary index. By default,...

I know this is an ancient posting, but we are running into this now. We are converting from DS8.0.1 to DS8.1 and are getting the same issue compiling buildops. What do you mean by 'improper entry'?

Thanks!

We heard back from IBM and this functionality will be added for DS8.5, but so far there is no retrofit patch for 8.1. We are opening a PMR to request one. If anyone else out there is looking to do the same thing in DS8.1, I recommend opening a PMR as well. The more customer requests they receive, th...

We sent this to IBM and it sounds like it is a known issue. The response I got was that the TRANSLATE command is no longer used in this context in DS8.1 adn DS8.5. We are in the process of going to DS8.1, hopefully in the next 2-3 months. It did not sound like there was an existing patch for DS8.0.1...

Is this patch available for DS8.0.1 or for DS8.1? We are on DS8.0.1.

Thanks!

How about using the dsjob command? From Unix:

Code: Select all

dsjob <your connection parms> -logdetail <proj> <job> -wave 0
We have a wrapper that we use to kick off all DS job and it ends by pulling the logs with the above command, reformatting a bit and outputing to a log file.

Thanks!

DS7 vs DS8 and dsexport vs dscmdexport

We are migrating from DS7.51a to DS8.0.1 and have need to make some XML exports of jobs from both sides. On the DS8 side, the dsexport seems to be doing what we need and exporting all related items for a job (buildops, table defs, etc.). However, the same command does not appear to give full output ...

The PMR was 88246,999,706 but was originally opened because of the abnormal amount of time taken to delete a project. The support sent us a procedure ( and the script ) to manually delete a project as well as a procedure to delete a job ( using same script ). Ghila, how long do you defined 'abnorma...

Thanks for the info. Our Infrastructure guy found a similarly named script in the XMeta directory structure called DStageWrapper.sh. We are on 8.0.1 vs. 8.1, perhaps the *81.sh refers to v8.1? He ran the script and it didn't find anything related to our project. Then he looked out in the Projects di...

Undocumented? Are you talking about the dsadmin comand and the -deleteproject option? Should I not be using this?

Assuming that you are dsadmin when (not) creating the project, verify that dsadmin has all privileges to the XMETA database and all tables therein (at least all those that relate to DataStage). ... I'll check it out. So the theory is that maybe dsadmin is missing some permissions and didn't clean o...
