Hi, Background: We have 150+ tables are being loaded on daily basis from One DB2 instance to Other DB2 instance. The volume ranges from 100 to 2 million rows. All these jobs are running in sequencer with the following parameters. $SRCDBTYPE = IBM DB2 [$PROJDEF] $TARRAY = 500 [$PROJDEF] - Target Arra...

Any one has a example of Within Ascential subroutine

Hi,

I was curious, which approach you followed. If you have followed the Ascential approach, do u have example code for that.

Thank you for your response Venkat Ranga, I really appreciate if you could elaborate a bit. 1. PS load FC and DM's in destrictive mode. If you want to change FC to incremental mode... you may need to observe closely depending dimensions. -- What does FC stand for? Did you mean Datamart or Datamap w...

Hash File usage

Hi,

I was able to improve the performance by replacing all Lookup as has lookups. The performance went up by 3000 rows per seconds.

Surrogate Key Generation

Hi, We are planning to migrate 100+ tables in incremental mode. Out of which 25 of them are Fact and Rest of them are dimension tables. I am trying to come up with optimal mechanisam to produce Surrogate Key. Is there any out of the box solution available from Ascential (like Oracle Sequences ) or D...

Datastage Performance

Hi,

The out of the box Ascential installation is only able to perform 100 rows per second for most my jobs (simple loads too). I was hoping to findout if I need to setup any additional parameters to improve the job Performance.

Peoplesoft/Ascential Incremental Load

I am looking after similar exercise for one of my client. We have the same issue. I spent considerable amount of time to look through how to change the extracts to incremental. Very highlevel this is what I found out. The logic is different from each dataset you are trying to change incremental. Cou...

It shouldn't be an issue with a VC move, but I believe it can be when using export/import if the 'include defaulted properties' (or some such) is not checked. :? No... I tried that.. Similar problem I am facing too. What I found out is, when you define the variables they written to the dsparms file...
