DataStage 7 does not support AIX 5.3

No DataStage 7.0.1, 7.1 and 7.5A all only support AIX 5.2

Don't think its that....

Yes, this is ascii and not binary. Maybe a liitle background. I think the FTP Stage is having trouble resolving the "Server Name"....I need to find out how the Server Name gets resolved? Just to summarize what I did with the DataStage FTP Stage Job: 1. Tried running the Job in DataStage 6....

FTP command TYPE failed error?

I have a simple server Job that takes a Sequential Stage (single row) and links to a FTP Plug-in Stage. Actually sometimes this Job runs but most of the time it fails. When it fails the log says: "ftptest..FTP_Plug_in_1: Error while trying to open connection for sending data to the FTP server, ...

One angle is if your processing this data sequencially then nothing beats the performance of a sequential file vs. database. Another angle is if the intent is to persist the data vs. deleting this at the end of the Job then the database is the best option.

Sarbanes-Oxley does not consider ODBC to be providing a secure environment. It's a interpretation that the top 3 accounting firms are using duing audits.

1. If you remove the ORACLE_HOME and LIBPATH (or whatever fits your OS) seeting from dsenv and then apply within Administration through environment variables "per Project" ....then each Project can define what LIBPATH and ORACLE_HOME please them. On Project 8.1.7 and another 9.2.0. The dse...

I just wanted to elaborate.... 1. Overriding the dsenv ORACLE_HOME in a User-Defined variable within Administrator is fine for Parallel Jobs but does not work for Server Jobs. 2. Another alternative is to change the dsenv ORACLE_HOME to point to a Oracle 8.1.7 client vs. a 9.2.0 client. This way the...

Parametertizing is very good and this leads to.... 1. Assure you are using relative and not absolute pathing such as via a .ini file 2. Environment variables start with the dsenv file in youe $DSHOME and impact all Projects on the server in question. Then for a specific Project you can go in Adminis...

You can access SQL Server in one of two ways (1) ODBC Stage (2) On the SQL Server platform extract and create a flat file, then have the flat file FTP'd to the DataStage Server where you then would read via a Sequential File Stage or use a FTP Stage You can write to SQL Server in one of two ways (1)...

1. Deadlock Daemon is found in cd $DSHOME and the file is dslockd.config. After you change start to 1 then save and stop/start the DS Engine. Look at the DataStage install guide. 2. For dsadm to have many rights like root then look at the DataStage install guide post configuration steps. Most import...

First, if your getting excessive locking, "job designed not found", "can't save DS OBJECTS" and all of those weird messages then its more than likely pointing towards a Job design issue. An issue where there are more locks being generated than being released. For example, if you ...

Don't export and reimport it doesn't solve. You need to clear ALL locks outstanding for a user (or maybe all users if there sharing). Locks do not all have a specific Job name associated with them so you need to find the User Number for the User in questions and unlock every lock for that User. MAKE...
