Installing DS 7 not using root

 When trying to install DS 7 as a non-root user the installation works. I can stop and start the DS server. However, I cannot connect to the server from a client. I get the usr/pwd are incorrect.

Installing with root however works fine.

Any comments/help is much appreciated!

QualityStage Match Procedures

Put 4 different QualityStage (INTEGRITY) Stage's in a DataStage job. Call each one of your match procedures in the order you want. Then connect them together. You might have to put flat file buffers between them. Source => Match 1 => Match 2 => Match 3 => Match 4 => Target Or Source => Match 1 => F...

DB2 Connect

Finally read the db2.pdf. It states that version 6.1 or later of DB2 Universal database client software must be installed on the DataStage server when using DataStage 6.x. It then goes on to mention that Client Application Enablers (CAE's) are required if DB2 source is on an AS400. Excuse my ...

DB2 Connect

We are currently using DataStage and connecting to DB2 via Sql Server. The consultants we have contracted to do a health check on the application have suggested using the DB2 stage and connecting directly to DB2, but because DataStage shares the same box as Sql Server 2000 (which is the target datab...

DB2 Connect

Does anyone know or has anyone experienced connection problems to DB2 on an AS400 where DataStage and Sql Server 2000 share the same box. I was told that DB2 connect would not work in the above scenario. As purchasing another box is not an option, how what would an alternative be to connecting to DB...

Also, what is the latest version of DataStage with a SAP/R3 plugin that will support SAP 3.1H?

Thanks

Batch job hangs

I have a Control job which executes several other jobs. When the jobs are run individually, they execute without any problems. However, when the control job executes those same jobs, some of them go into a 'running' state and don't process anything. The problem is that the control job has a 'wait fo...

dataStage and Web Logic

One of my customers uses Web Logic in other areas of the business. They have expressed interest in using this technology in the ODS environment (i.e. with Datastage). They had an initial need for MQ Series, but were unable to go that route. They now would like to use Web Logic instead. MQ Series had...

Oracle OCI vs ODBC error message

 I have a customer who claims the ODBC stage will give the full error message, while the OCI stage truncates the error message to about 50 characters.

:?: How does one make the OCI give the full error message?

Thanks

[:D]Thanks Ray and Pey for your input. I was just wondering if one gets a 'freebie' developer where your license details specify 2 concurrent users, but one can get away with 3. Ray, please explain the difference between Telnet license options and the Developer client license options.

Thanks.

[?]Pey, I'm not quite sure I understand your answer when you say you don't pay attention to the user limit. When you were blocked, was it because you had the same number of concurrent developers accessing DataStage as the user limit in the license details e.g. user limit 5 and you had 5 users logged...
