Distributed HASH file
Hi Everyone We are creating huge hash files that are starting to touch on the 2GB limit. Typically, these hash files have around 40 million rows in them. I want to create a distributed hash file instead to make the maintenance/design of the DataStage jobs easier (lookup's become a problem when you h...

Restricting rows retried when viewing data
I want to restrict developers from viewing large files from within the DS Designer module. Why, because they press Ctrl Alt Del when they do not get a reponse and it is causing problems. Typically, I would only like to have the query return 100 rows. Is there anyway to set this in DS via, for exampl...

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies. Sorry, should have added more info. I can log onto my DataStage project, compile jobs etc. This only happens when I try to run the job. It is a normal DS Server job, not a Sequencer job. I logged into DS Administrator and did a DS.REINDEX ALL which seemed to fix the ...

Output from LIST.READU
Hi Guys
I want to write a batch job that executes the Universe command LIST.READU
(Before/After job routine ExecTCL LIST.READU)
What I need to know is how to read the output from this command. Is it stored in some internal file?
Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I have Telnetted into the project, gone into DS.Tools and rebuilt the indexes. However, when I try to log onto a project (any project because we curently have 4 projects running concurrently) I get the following error: Error calling subroutine: *DataStage*DSR_SELECT (Action=4)...

I have stopped and restarted the services but still get the error.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Importing Informix table definitions into MetaStage
Hi All I need to import table definitions from an Informix database running on a Unix box. The only way to access these is via the ODBC metaroker -- I think? How does one set this up? Do I need the informix odbc driver on the same box as MetaStage? In the Windows ODBC Administrator, how does one spe...

Annotation Stage
Has anyone experienced this strange phenomenon...
Certain login id's can view annotations in designer. However, they cannot add additional annotations because the annotation stage in the pallete is greyed out.
Anyone know how to fix this![Question :?:](./images/smilies/icon_question.gif)
