I found few posts on how to read excel in DS. Everybody told create system DSN and use ODBC stage. How do I create system DSN in UNIX ?

In DS documentation it is mentioned that there are 17 types of static hash files. But not mentioned when to use those types. Also I want to know how to use recommendations from HASH.TEST Also Is static hash file effective when writing data into it or Lookup on stati HF is faster than lookup on Dynam...

I found the bug.. :D

It was problem with data types. Table had one column changed to Char(1) from Integer and table defn remained unchanged.

But it was really wierd to get such error message.

I have a job which does lookup to Hashfile and inserts into same if lookup fails. Now If second row has same value as that of first, I want it to find in Hash file as first row has inserted it. But lookup is failing for second row. I tried various options for lookup as Preload to memory disabled, di...

I have long running Batch job which triggers other datastage jobs. Actually none of the jobs which it triggers is running currently. It is stuck up on step type RunJob (xyz Job run requested..). But the problem is 'Stop Job' in director doesn't seem to be working. It gives message 'Stop request sent...
