Sorry, I've never see this problem.

I would suspect the PATH more than a corrupt DLL. Especially if you've re-installed the DataStage client. Did you also install the XP patch? The symptoms when it's missing are different, but you never know.

Thanks, Ray. I didn't know that (obviously). There are so many things that I don't know about DataStage, it's embarassing.

I do appreciate your time and knowledge.

Thanks for your help,
Tony

I know, Ray, but I kept getting an error because the Universe stage put double quote marks around the table name, which caused it to error with something like "Invalid table name". I couldn't quickly figure out how to make it stop doing that, so I used Custom SQL.

Is there an easy way to get this list out into a file?

I'm an idiot.

I used a UNIVERSE stage. Set to custom SQL.

SQL = SELECT DSRID FROM DS_Routines;

one column named DSRID varchar(72)

good as gold.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks, Ray. Interestingly enough, I tried using the manual "Usage Analysis" function within DataStage Manager. I have some routines that I KNOW are used within a UserVariable activity on a Job Sequencer job. When I run the usage analysis on them, nothing shows up. For the first you would ...

This problem has been resolved. The main job sequence started running at 3:00am and usually took a little over 1 hour to run. Unknown to me, sometime around 4:00am on Monday the UNIX system was rebooted. This was a "normal" weekly reboot. Apparently, some time later, the DataStage engine r...

I was able to fix this issue with IBM Support's help. I ran DataStage Administrator and "logged in" using the dsadm login/pw. It gave me an error, but clicking "OK" eventually brought the DS Administrator tool up. I clicked on the Licensing tab. On the "Client License" ...

Finding Routines used within a job

Is there a way to list the routines used in a job? Heck, for that matter, is there a way to programmatically get a list of routines within a project? I know that I can manually look through a job and manually see routines used in various places (Derivations, Constraints, Stage vars, etc). I was look...

Oh, and the v8.1 client is installed in a separate location from the v7.5.1a client software.

No, I was goofy... I specified an alternate DataStage Administrative user 'dsadescm' when I installed the server. Sorry. At any rate, I can't login to v8.1 because I get "Invalid username/password". And I can't use the v7.5.1a client because I get "Client license missing or incorrect&...

Dang, I didn't notice what forum I was in. I wonder if I can get the webmaster to move this to the right forum? The v8.1 client appears to work... But I keep getting "Invalid username/password" when I try to login as the Administrative user. I did change the admin user to 'dsadescm' when I...

v8.1 client issues

Hi everyone. It's been a while since I posted. I just loaded v8.1 Datastage client on a PC that already had v7.5.1a client loaded. The v8.1 client installer also installed v8.1 Multi-Client Manager. I run Multi-client Manager and select v7.5.1a. After it returns I try to login to any of the DataStag...

I am currently having the same problem. I think I have a line on what's going on. 1) IBM sent me a patch for jobs that "deadlock". I can't find the ecase number right now. If I find it, I'll post it. 2) My UNIX admin folks found out that the system was rebooting for a weekly reboot, while ...

I knew that logically... I don't guess I ever really had anyone complain about it and had to work it out. :)

Thanks for the input, Craig. Long time no talk to.
