Datastage server not up - port not listening

Our datastage server does not come up. The port is not listening to requests. The datastage admin has already stopped and restarted the datastage server. Also reboot the unix server. No luck so far.

Any idea what should we be looking at?

Thanks.

Performance Issue

I would appreciate any help for a performance issue in loading data into a Oracle DW table. The target has over 10 million rows. The new rows are mostly being updated while there are some insertions as well. For the updates, the where clause matches an existing index. Can anyone please give some ide...

Thank you.

You are trying to configure ODBC access from DataStage to SQL Server. DataStage is running on UNIX (according to your original post). There is NO Control Panel for UNIX ! So it all has to be done with ini files and the like (just like ancient versions of Windows!). The DataStage engine is the clien...

Have you made an entry in the uvodbc.config file (in the project directory) of the following form? <MyDatabaseServer> DBMSTYPE = ODBC The space either side of "=" is mandatory. Thanks Ray. I have not made any changes to uvodbc.config yet. Do I also have to modify odbc.ini file? Bhusan

Searching hash file usage

I would like to know how I can determine what job is creating a hash file and which other jobs are using that file. I believe I can export the entire project and then find the job names from the .dsx file that contain the hash file. But if there is any better way ......

Thank you very much.

It's automatic and a remnant of the old way of doing Job Control. Go into Director and from the Status view, pull down the 'Tools' menu. You'll see an entry for 'Batch' and then the option to create a 'New...' one. It will look just like the Job Properties tab of a 'normal' job in Designer, but won...

Job Control

I am curious to know how the job name of a job that has only job control routine contains "::" (two colons). For example, the name of the job is Batch::XXXXXXX.

Can any one please help me as to how this name is given.

Thanks.

Balancing input and output record counts

I would like to know if any one has a better idea to reconcile input, output, and rejected record counts when the source is a database table? I can think of taking the row count before starting the transformation and comparing that to number of records rejected and written to the target. Any better ...

If Datastage director cleanup does not release the job, then do a grep on dsapi_slave and find the pid of the process and kill that.
