Director Crashing

I have imported a job, compiled it and ran it successfully but when I try to view the job details in director I get the following message:-

'Run-time error '457'
This key is already associated with an element of this collection'

The Director session then terminates.

Any ideas.

When trying to delete a sequence within designer the following error message is encountered

The delete fails.

Any ideas.

I ran the DS.CHECKER command but received a message stating 'CANNOT GET EXCLUSIVE HOLD OF FILE DS_JOBS - ABANDONING'. I made sure everyone had disconnected from the project so i'm not sure why i got the above message. Anyway i eventually stopped and started datastage to see if that would resolve the...

oracle OCI loader

I have loaded a file using the oracle OCI load stage(automatic mode) and compared the load time against loading the same file using sql*loader directly from the unix command line. When invoked from unix the load time is 4 times quicker. I ran the OCI load stage in manual mode to see the control file...

My understanding of unix is that there is no limit to how many processes can be started at any one time as unix will then share system resource between them all. Therefore i am confused as to why DS can have trouble starting jobs.

Issues with Sequences

Are there any contraints on the number of parallel jobs that can be invoked from a sequence. We seem to get job failures when more than 20 jobs are invoked in parallel from a sequence.

I have followed all the steps you specified including deleting the original project from the TCL(step5) but still get the following message when trying to re-create the original project.

DSR.ADMIN: A schema called 'alfa_stg_dev' already exists. This must be dropped before the project can be created.

I've checked and it does not seem to be there.
The project can still be seen in Administrator drop down list but i cannot delete it from administrator.
Is there another way to delete references to the project within datastage.
