data\R900045.BW3

BW pack Upgrade

Hi, I'm upgrading the bw pack from version 4.1 to 4.2.1 and I found that for this upgrade you need to import the new transport "BW3K900045". Anybody know if this transport is provided by Asc/IBM? I could not find it on the cds. Also any comments about this kind of upgrade would be apprecia...

Re: SUN OS bind20 for DB2 failed

If you are using the "VMdb220.so" ODBC driver, the error code should be in this file: "ivdb220.po"

Re: DB2 ODBC set up

The DB2 is on AIX box. After that, I ran: bind20 xxerdb, and I got this msg: Package creation failed!: 1402. Can you tell what does this mean? Sorry I don't remember the meaning of 1402 error, you can check the description here: *.po files located under /branded_odbc/locale/en_US/LC_MESSAGES good l...

Hi Thomas, welcome.

Could you explain which is the criteria to remove b5 and not a10 in your example? And how is generated the TEMP_BOM file?

Remember that in DS the hash files overwrite the duplicate keys.
I think that maybe you need to check the constraint in the transformer.

good luck

Error writing named pipe

Hi all, I get this fatal error " Error writing named pipe: There is no process to read data written to a pipe." I couldn't found this error posted; anybody faced something like this? The job is quite simple, just DB2-->TRF-->BW, and runs everyday (around 100k rows), few days ago the job st...

Craig is right. The LIBPATH I mentioned is the one in the dsenv file, located in "../DataStage/Engine". So, Leonie check the dsenv file (if you need to make any change on it, you will need to stop/start ds services), then check the .odbc.ini file and set the correct values for your OS390 c...

when the job starts the table is empty for that reason the performance is better, may be you can use a bulk load to improve performance. Also you need to check the transaction size and the rows per transaction; these two values impact on the performance.

good luck.

It's safe (if you can go back easily), the DS users need to have the same primary group as dsadm.

Hi Yelu, welcome!!

I think that the Developer User guide is a good start. I remember that ascential had a "first steps" doc and a good advanced course, but those ones are not free.

good luck

Hi, Leonie

You don't need any other driver.

Are you sure that you add the correct "$DSHOME`/branded_odbc/lib" to de LIBPATH in dsenv file and after that did you restart the services?

If you have enabled the Job Administrator in Director you can go to "Job>Cleanup Resources", click on show all and with the Lock PID you can check which User has the job locked. If you are this user you can logout the process right there.

Good luck.

Hi Tom, yes if you want to create a native connection to DB2 you need to install the Db2 client on your ETL server (or somewhere), then you will need to catalog the connections with the db2 client. (this should be your first step, check the db2 connections from db2 client). After that you need to ad...

>Select * from PRISMPH.PMODEL Qualified object name PMODEL not valid. My friend this error is because in AS400 your query should be "Select * from PRISMPH/PMODEL" Unfortunately I believe that if you are migrating your jobs from version 6 to version 7 you would need to go to the ODBC stage...
