Sequencer getting errors trying to run
My developers are having recurring problems with Sequencer jobs in DS 7.5.1A. Sequencers trying to invoke jobs are not able to get correct status of jobs. The jobs although being in compiled or finished state are not being able to be attached by the sequencer. They normally resolve by recompiling th...

Sybase ODBC quote character 000
We created a new job today with an ODBC stage for a Sybase table. The ODBC connection works fine. We imported a table definition. We had to put 000 in the "ODBC quote character" field for the "View Data" to work successfully. Can someone enlighten me as to the significance of 000...

DS 7.5.1A Enable Editing of Internal Reference
Can anyone explain the effect of checking this option in the General tab on a project in DS 7.5.1A Administrator?

MCM install
Make sure you use the full user name. If you are on a network it maybe something like <NEtname>/<Userid>. Interesting. I also had to abandon the multi client switcher as I couldn't install it onto my XP machine. During installation prompted for a user id and password as it needs to run as a service ...

Thanks for the suggestions. The E:\ drive is a local drive so I knew that was not the problem. I tried running dsexport. This gave me an error saying the version of my client is 7.5 and the version of the server is 7.0. I have the Multi Client Manager (MCM) installed on my desktop as I am the admini...

dscmdexport aborted: Cannot create Repository
When I run the dscmdexport it fails with the following message. dscmdexport aborted: Cannot create Repository Has anyone encountered this and know what the problem is? I am not sure what the term Repository is referring to. The only thing it should be creating is the export file. Here is the command...

Did you get any information on how to do this? I got a response from Ascential support saying that this has been done but they do NOT support it. They gave me information on how to do it but said do not call them with questions about making it work or if it breaks. If you have gotten this to work I ...

Thanks for the response. I've read through that before and it does not help with my problem. Maybe I missed something but I don't see it. The problem is that when you use a MQ stage you must specify the Queue Manager name. The two systems involved have different QM names with queues of the same name...

MQ stage and parallel process on remote node
Is it possible to run a parallel job with two processes, one local and one remote, using MQ as input? If it is possible I would appreciate suggestions on what to put in the QMGR name field. Also, does it require any special setup in MQ, like alias queues or clusters?

RSS feed message date/time
All messages in my RSS feed have a date of 12/31/1969 6:00 PM. I know some of us live in the past, but all of us on the same date/time. Kind of scary. I am using SharpReader. Is this a problem with the feed or the reader?
