Try removing "prefix=2" from the schema file and run again. I was getting the same error and did that and it is working.

Ray, We are going to have 10 to 15 developers, some will be onsite and some will be offshore for DataStage job development. IBM consultants argument is, each developer will be taking resources on the server and in order to provide better development environment, eight processor server is needed. We ...

Version 8- Does it need more resources for the dev server?

We had IBM consultant at our site and he suggested that we should have eight processor server for DataStage development server and four process server for DataStage production server. His argument is because of new architecture, development server needs more resources. I am not very convinced with h...

Sigma,

I am happy that your problem is solved. You are right, ".started" file get created when datastage start the job and get deleted when job completes successfully or job gets reset.

If the issue is reolved, Please mark it as resolved.

I meant .started file not .starter file. I see you have that in the directory. Delete that file and try run again.

Re: SAP BW not invoking the PULL job

You can try following tasks to resolve the problem. 1. make sure that dataStage RFC server is running from BW (sm59) 2. delete the .started file. When that file exists in the log directory, DataStage job do not start. 3. Make sure that all of the job setteings are correct. Dinesh *Note: critical Typ...

DataStage Security Model - DEV, QA and production (problems)

I am implementing DataStage security across different servers, development, QA and production. We have a requirement that developers should be able to make changes only in development server but not in QA and production. In QA and production, developers should be able to see the job runs and logs. A...

First of all you need to take a control on the number of jobs which are scheduled. One way to achieve this is through sequence jobs. Define a sequence job and logically divide all of the jobs in few sequences and schedule only them.

no. Key columns are only the way to update the rows. You do not need to define those key columns in the Oracle database, they are just for DataStage for updating the data. You can come up with some logical key columns to update the data.

You can improve the performance by calling multiple jobs at the same time so instead of running one job at a time you run multiple ones. You can achieve this some of these ways: 1. Define sequence job and in the sequence job start multiple job at once. 2. If you are running same job multiple times m...

Re: job sequence error code -14

You need to make sure that you are passing different instance ID. It may be possible that you are not passing them. In that case your first job will run but the other job will fail because the same job is running.

Siva,

You need to make sure that you are pssing the parameter values from the sequence job to the job getting called. The error you are getting show that parameter values are not passed to the job.

Open sequence job and set parameter values to the calling job.
